Strawberry Switchblade

One of my favorite groups from the 80s; my friends and I tried to copy their fashion. (From what I recall, they preceded Boy George's adoption of this style. I think he was actually influenced by them, not vice-versa). Now I realize why we were picked on in high school. Remember now, it was the 80s, and we thought we were punk! Anyway, SS--from Scotland-- besides having the coolest band name ever, were also one of the first groups to combine, in innovative ways, goth and pop. They've also had a huge impact on the Japanese fashion and music scene, and there are still Japanese teens emulating their look. Most importantly their songs are amazing. I need to dig through my tapes....

I like imagining you dressed like this. Dig out the old photos when you go looking for those tapes (tapes???....???).

they have a great name. it reminds me of Strawberry Shortcake! which is what I was doing while you were dressing up punk. :)

i listened to St.Sw. on MySpace, it was cool, not like anything I've heard before. Though I must say that song "Jolene" makes me want to scratch eyes out like an angry rooster-cat hybrid. i think because i first heard it on the euro version of "big brother" which is just so lame. but it annoys me. but i liked the other songs. and i like the clothes.

i thought Prince might be a good gender-bender, but didn't he beat his gf? even the girly-men can be total assholes...

did Prince beat his girlfriend? i had no idea!

this would, then, disprove any theory about physically non-threatening men making better boyfriends since Prince is like 4'11'' and weighs 100 lbs...

heard he plays a mean game of basketball, though.

Sarah is right, you would look good dressed like the band especially if the desire is to scare off whimpy girly-men.

now then...post something before I email blogger and tell them this is a secret porn shop...
